PRIVACY NOTICE

What happens to your data

Controller and purpose

The operator named above is responsible for the app data. We process data only to authenticate you, sync learning progress, calculate XP and levels, show the signed-in community features, operate friend follows, prevent abuse and keep the service secure.

Data we process

  • Your authenticated email address as the private account identifier.
  • Your chosen public name, level, learned ranges, answer statistics, flashcard count, streak, selected learning set, avatar, rewards and profile styling.
  • Who you follow and who follows you, plus creation and update timestamps.
  • Short-lived technical request and security data may be processed by hosting and authentication providers.

What other learners see

Signed-in learners can see your public name, level, title, avatar, badge, frame, learning totals, accuracy, correct answers, streak and follow relationship. Your email address is never shown to other learners.

Providers and external content

Authentication and hosting are provided through OpenAI / ChatGPT Sites. Infrastructure providers may process data in Switzerland, the EEA, the United States or other countries under their applicable safeguards. Map tiles are requested from OpenStreetMap and photographs from Wikimedia Commons; those services receive ordinary connection data such as IP address, browser information and request time when content loads.

Local storage, cookies and analytics

The app uses essential sign-in/session technology managed by the authentication service. A legacy local progress record may be read once and removed after cloud migration. We do not currently use advertising, marketing trackers or independent audience analytics.

Retention and your rights

Your app profile remains until you delete it or request deletion. Provider security logs may be retained separately under provider policies and legal obligations. You may request access, correction or deletion by email. Signed-in users can download a machine-readable copy or permanently delete app data in Profile → My profile → Account & Privacy. Deleting app data does not delete your separate ChatGPT account.

Age and changes

The community features are intended for people aged 16 or older. Under-16 users need permission from a parent or legal guardian. Material privacy changes will be reflected on this page with a new update date. Questions or complaints can be sent to the operator; you may also contact the competent data-protection authority.

03
TERMS OF USE

Simple community rules

By creating a public explorer profile, you agree to these terms and the privacy notice. You confirm that you are at least 16 or have parental permission.

  • Use a respectful public name. No impersonation, hate, harassment, sexual content, threats, spam or unlawful material.
  • Do not attack, scrape, manipulate or disrupt the service or other accounts.
  • Your account access is personal. Keep your authentication account secure.
  • The operator may rename, restrict or remove profiles and connections that violate these rules or create legal or security risk.

Educational information

Geographic facts are prepared carefully but may contain errors or become outdated. Mountain elevations can vary by survey and changing snow or ice. The app is not navigation, climbing, weather, rescue or safety advice. Verify critical information with authoritative sources before travel or mountaineering.

Availability and liability

The service is provided free of charge and may be changed, interrupted or discontinued. To the extent permitted by law, no guarantee is made for uninterrupted availability, learning outcomes or complete accuracy. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

Intellectual property and law

The app design, original text and code remain protected. Third-party maps and photos remain subject to their own licences and attribution terms. Swiss law applies, subject to mandatory consumer protections. The competent courts are determined by applicable Swiss law.
